The South Carolina Council of
Teachers of English will hold its annual conference on January 28-29,
2011 at the Kiawah Island Resort near Charleston, South Carolina. The
theme of the 2010 SCCTE Conference is Building Bridges.We are expecting
approximately 300 teachers including elementary, middle school, high
school,
and post-secondary English language arts teachers.
We would like to invite
you to
exhibit all English and language arts materials which you believe would
be of
interest to our participants. Exhibit
space will be limited and will be assigned on a first come, first serve
basis. Please do not miss this
opportunity to come and share your materials with us. Because of space
limitations, you may reserve 1, 2, or 3 tables; we recommend that you
reserve your tables early. Click here to view

Please complete
the registration form online and mail a copy along with your payment by
November 1, 2011, in order to ensure your space at
the conference. We cannot guarantee space until your payment is
recieved, so don't delay! Cost per table is $300 each; a table for SC
authors is only $150.

Exhibitor Rules and Regulations
- Exhibitor Fees: Cost per table is $300 for each table
requested; cost per
table/space for authors is $150. Tables
are six feet in length and will be set up by facility staff.
- Terms of Payment: Fees are due upon contract submission.
Space not paid in full by the cancellation date listed below will
result in the exhibitor forfeiting any money made as a down payment.
The Council will have the right to dispose
of exhibit privileges and space without liability of any kind. No
exhibit will be allowed in the exhibition
area until full payment has been made and all terms of the contract
fulfilled.
- Space Assignment: The assignment of space will be made
according to submission of contract and arrival of storage materials.
- Cancellation: An exhibitor may cancel this agreement by
giving
written notice of cancellation which must be received on or before
December 1, 2010.
- Exhibitor's Registration: The purchase of a table includes
one conference registration. All exhibitors should sign in with the
Conference Exhibit Chairperson upon arrival.
- Installation: Exhibitors may begin installation of displays
starting at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011. No signs or other
materials may be attached to any wall or table surface in the Kiawah
Island Resort East Beach Conference Center except with double-sided
Velcro on air walls. No flammable explosive substance or noisy exhibits
will be permitted in the building.
- Dismantling: Exhibitors may begin dismantling of displays
starting at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011. No exhibitor
should remove any exhibit or part of an exhibit until the final close
of the exhibition. Exhibitors must arrange for pick-up of all materials
following the evening close of the event.
- Noise-Making Exhibits: Exhibits which include the operation
of musical instruments, radios, and/or talking motion picture equipment
must be conducted or arranged so that noise resulting from the
demonstration will not annoy or disturb adjacent exhibitors and their
patrons. Operators of noise-making exhibits must secure approval of
operating methods from the South Carolina Council of Teachers of
English before the exhibit opens.
- Shipments: Materials may be shipped in advance. Resort
shipping and receiving is open from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Send packages
to: Kiawah Island Resort, 12 Kiawah Beach Drive, Kiawah Island, SC
29455, Attention: East Beach Conference Center Representative. Be sure
to include a contact name and "South Carolina Council of Teachers of
English Conference" on the package(s). The resort will not receive
packages COD, nor is it liable for loss or damage to packages. No
shipment will be accepted earlier than 48 hours prior to an event and
must be picked up within 48 hours after the event unless prior
arrangements are made. A labor charge will be assessed for unloading
vehicles and moving items to storage area. Items delivered on
pallets must be unloaded by the driver of the delivery truck.
Hold Harmless Clause: The
South Carolina Council of Teachers of English
agrees to protect, indemnify, defend and save Kiawah Island Resort, the
SCCTE's exhibitors and its officers, directors, employees and agents
harmless from and against any and all claims, losses or damages to
persons or property, governmental charges of fines and reasonable
attorneys' fees arising out of or caused by installation, removal,
maintenance, occupancy or use of the exhibition area in Kiawah Island
Resort or a part thereof, excluding any such liability caused by the
sole negligence of Kiawah Island Resort. The South Carolina Council of
Teachers of English shall cause its exhibitors to execute the Exhibit
Contract. |
